Miniature Pinscher Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Ladies, Oscar is in the house. This little guy is a total cutie and we are hoping he finds the family that wants to dote on him like he deserves. Oscar is 4 and weighs 15lbs. He has short legs like a Doxie. Although he is currently living with a couple and their grandchildren, Oscar takes some time to warm to men so we are hoping to find him an all female home, or a home with a patient and understanding guy. This adorable cuddle bunny is neutered, just about house broken (needs just a little more work!) and will make a wonderful new addition to someone's family. If you would like to bring Oscar home with you, please copy and paste this link ... (Read More)to your web browser to fill out our online application, http://members.petfinder.com/~CT243/sampleform.html. Oscar has been neutered, is up to date on shots, heart worm negative and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300 and the transport fee to bring him up north is $125. We cannot be certain what his true mix is. (Less)

I am a mix with a Mexican Hairless dog so you can call me hypoallergenic! I had it rough before I found a loving foster but now I'm ready to share my love with my new forever family. I currently live in a foster home in Texas. My adoption fee includes my transport north to you!

Rescue Me ID: 18-03-30-00047Oscar (male)

Miniature Pinscher Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Our tiny Oscar came to us last year as an emergency case from NYC ACC. This tiny 10 pound Miniature Pinscher-Dachshund mix had been hit by a car and was incapacitated by the side of the road when good samaritans brought him to the shelter for medical care. It's amazing that Oscar survived his injuries, which were extensive. He had a fractured lower jaw that left his muzzle swollen and painful. Also, he sustained a fractured hip, which would require surgery in the near future, once his considerable soft tissue injuries and swelling subsided. After several months of TLC, surgery, and medical care, Oscar is 100 percent, and ready for his new ... (Read More)home. And yet, the trauma of such an injury leaves some wounds on the spirit. Oscar needs a patient adopter, with some rescue chops, willing to troubleshoot unpredictable behavior with some strangers, and some initial handling issues, due to random aches and pains caused by his injuries. Oscar has shown us that he can bond like glue to his loving handlers, and accept gentle touch, but there will be some likely ups and downs in the first couple of weeks as he adjusts to new people. Oscar is a gentle, shy boy, who needs patience to allow him time to warm up and bond. He will thrive in the quiet home of a laid back single or couple, and perhaps another good natured dog, or friendly cat, to help him adjust. He's not a good candidate for hectic family life, and he will surely be spooked by the overzealous affections of toddlers. Oscar is a medium energy dog, and needs a couple of leisurely walks each day, with an assertive handler, who has earned his trust. He is an energetic little Scamp, who loves to be in the middle of the action. We have begun him on a basic obedience routine, and he seems happy to work for treats and praise. The obedience training process has gone a long way toward building Oscar's confidence. Adopters should continue him on a training regimen to develop his potential. Confident leadership is the key to success with Oscar. Oscar has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters must have appropriate expectations of a recently neutered dog, and be willing to fine tune potty habits as Oscar adjusts to a new routine. Just five years old, Oscar is in excellent health, and has bounced back nicely from his injuries. He has been neutered and vaccinated for rabies and DHLPPC (distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, parainfluenza and coronavirus). He has had the 4dx test, and is negative for heartworm, lyme, earlichia and anaplasmosis. He has been microchipped and dewormed. If you are interested in Oscar please write to Denise@eskiesonline.com or call Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info. (Less)

Miniature Pinschers are called Zwergpinschers in Germany, which literally means Dwarf Biter. Miniature Pinschers are not considered to be a toy breed in their native Germany; they are one of the oldest Terriers. The Miniature Pinscher is affectionately called the Min Pin. Miniature Pinschers are often mistakenly called Miniature Dobermans, but they are not related to Doberman Pinschers.
