Mason is an 8 to 9 yr old black & tan male miniature pinscher. He is neutered, up to date on shots, micro-chipped, docked, but not cropped. Mason is a laid back kind of guy who prefers human companionship over playing with other dogs or with his toys. He gets along with other dogs and even gets along with cats, but he prefers to just hang out with his people. He enjoys taking leisurely long walks with his human. He is crate-trained and house-trained with the use of a doggie door. Mason came to us heart worm positive, because his previous owners didn't take proper care of him. When he got sick they dumped him back at the very same shelter they had adopted him from years before. Mason will be completing his heart worm treatment the end of October and will then be available for adoption. If you would like to give this boy a second chance for a happy healthy life and want to show him what true love is all about then please contact us for information on how to adopt him. You won't be sorry. Mason is located in Pelzer, South Carolina. (Less)

Animal ID: Skye #354Skye (female)
Skye: 8 years old blue/tan Miniature Pinscher, 7 lbs., docked and cropped. 'Hey you and you and you. So my name is Skye. I'm what they call a blue and tan Min Pin, but that doesn't mean I act sad and blue. I like exploring and geocaching, car rides to vacation spots, treats, cuddles, walks on the beach, and... Oh wait. Wrong site. Sorry. I love watching while people cook and bounce up and down to get a good look at the stove or oven. Funny thing is, I'm picky with my own food. My foster mom is threatening to rename me Goldilocks because I like everything not too dry, not too wet, but just right. My mouth is fine. I've just trained her well. She grinds kibble for me. 6 tbsp. mixed with 2/3 cup of water, and I'm good. Any less, and I look at her like she's crazy. This is like Burger King, and you get to have it your way, right? If not, it should be. So now, she's putting much-needed weight on my little body. I probably need to weigh around 8 pounds. I am crate trained. I do well with bath time and when having my nails trimmed. The other dogs can be ignored for all I care, and I don't even question why cats exist like some of my foster sisters. In fact, I am so chill that the deer who frequent the front yard want to investigate me. Bet they've never done that with any other dogs. I am totally special! I am also good on a leash. If off lead, I must be in a fenced yard because I am completely deaf and can only see out of one eye. If you have deaf dog experience, great. If not, we can learn together. The best command is when a person bends down or kneels, it means I need to go to them. I think it's all for play, but people are weird and sometimes it's so I can be carried somewhere. Then I will snuggle with my head under their chin. I also like puzzle games. I'm not much for most toys, but give me a puzzle with treats hidden in it, and I will figure it out. My favorite thing to do when not exploring is to burrow under blankets. You do want to share your bed, right? Come on. I know you do. It's not like I take up much space. If you're ready to add a sweet, quiet and fun-loving dog who possibly has kangaroo in her DNA to your household, please apply and ask for Skye. Oh and, due to my size, no children under the age of 10, please.' (Less)

As she ages, she would probably be best as an only dog. She doesn't seem to care for my other female dog too much anymore.

Rescue Me ID: 17-09-06-00578Tosh (male)
Tosh was surrendered to a local kill shelter where owner surrenders get put down right away with no chance of getting on the adoption floor. Tosh is 6 years old and is a fantastic Chihuahua/Min Pin mix with traits of both breeds. The lady scheduled him to be destroyed just because she said he would be getting on her nerves. We just happen to be present when she walked in and were able to talk her into surrendering him to us instead of having him euthanized. He does very well with dogs off all sizes and genders. He is a lover, housebroken and would make the perfect companion for anybody. If you would like to meet Tosh please send us a message in order to receive an application. We are only able to meet with pre-approved applicants since we do not have a shelter available to the public. PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN APPLICATION ONLINE. ONLY VIA E MAIL CAN YOU RECEIVE THE PROPER FORMS! His adoption fee is $ 350 which includes all his vaccines, heartworm test, neuter and micro chip (Less)

Animal ID: Spirit #353Spirit (female)
Spirit: 11 years old, 5 lbs. 'Hi! I am Spirit! My name fits me very well as I am oh-so spunky even for my 12 years of age. Missing one eye does not slow me down at all, though I can be a little hand shy with strangers on that side at first. I am a tiny little girl with lots of love to give. I require a professional cuddler as an adopter. I will bounce up and down and bark while wagging my tail if I want to be held. My foster mom thinks I need to be an only dog since I can be a little protective of my people around furry ones. I am house trained if kept on a schedule. Since I am so small, I need to go out often. However, I know what pee pads are used for as well. I am also crate trained and love my crate to the point I go in it when it is open just to nap. If you have a fenced yard, it must be secure as I am like most Min Pins and want to work on escape artistry skills and seem to search for tiny spaces to squeeze through. Are you convinced I need to come to your home yet? If so, please complete the adoption application at http://tinyurl.com/mpmrapp, or e-mail with any questions. Woofs and wags, Spirit' (Less)

Animal ID: 27824Maple (female)
Maple: 4 yr old (DOB 9/21/12) red female, spayed, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 13', 14 lb. Fully vetted. Owner give-up. 'Miss Maple is my name and I am looking for a forever home. I have had a bit of a rough time the first 3 years of my life and was without human interaction and therefore I will need a home that understands that trust takes time. I love dogs and so a canine brother or sister would be great but if not, I'm sure I could get used to having the couch all to myself. No children please, I do not do well with human puppies running and touching me. I do not bite but will cower in a corner when I'm freaked out. I am housebroken and use the doggie door at my temporary home. I'm typical Min Pin and love to snuggle under blankets and I will make sure the premises are well guarded and will alert you when anybody comes to the door. I also want a stable quiet home as I am confused with change. If you think you can give me a forever home, please fill out an application and ask for Miss Maple.' IMPS Tag: 27824 (Less)

Animal ID: CP CherileeCherilee (female)
FENCED YARD REQUIRED! Cherilee: 3 yr old female, spayed, natural tail and ears, fully vetted, Rescued from a local shelter. Cherilee is a very sweet little girl once she warms up and trusts a woman, but she will not be able to go to a home with a man as her primary caregiver. Trusting will take a few weeks, and unlike most Min Pins, she is not one to readily take treats at first. She will spend most of the time in her crate or safe space needing people not to push themselves upon her. Once she is comfortable, she loves to play hard and then crash. While there are other dogs in her foster home, she tends to play by herself and ignores them. Cherilee is house-trained and will let someone know when she needs to go outside by running to the door and back to the person. Sometimes she'll stand at the door or put her front paws on it. She is also crate trained if a treat is involved and does well in her crate when left alone. When someone is home, she will probably be found under a blanket somewhere in typical Min Pin burrowing fashion. It cannot be emphasized enough how much this girl requires a fenced yard. At this time, she will do best in a calm, quiet household with a woman as her caregiver since she is afraid of men. Raised voices or loud noises spook her into hiding. She is not a dog who will walk on leash due to her fears, though it has been tried. Whoever adopts her must possess patience and a willingness to work with her to overcome her fears. Only people with Min Pin experience and/or knowledge of fearful dogs should consider this girl for part of their family . Updates will be made if her behavior changes. If you feel she might be a good fit for your home, feel free to write with any questions. Cherilee is located in Athens, GA and will only be adopted within driving distance. She will not be flown or placed on ground transport. (Less)
