Rescue Me ID: 13-11-29-00325Doofus (male)
Doofus is 13 lbs and gaining. Found by campers, he'd been wandering the campground and nearby highway for days. Very sweet; loves to be held and snuggled, and would love another dog to play with. All shots, wormed, and neutered shortly after being rescued. Do not text me.

Rescue Me ID: 13-11-18-00145Beppe (male)
Meet Beppe! We adopted him about 2 years ago and he just doesn't seem happy in our environment. He is a total lap dog that just wants to be cuddled. Our other dog (pitbull mix) drives him crazy trying to play with him, but she plays too rough and he gets scared. He would be a great pet for someone that is looking for a laid back cuddle buddy. He is about 18 lbs and adorable. He is housebroken and knows simple commands. He is a Min Pin mix the vet thinks. Call me for details.

Rescue Me ID: 13-10-24-00470Watson (male)
Watson was adopted from animal control by a nice family who was ultimately unable to handle his dachshund behavior. They called on rescue to take him in and work with him on behavior modification. Watson's foster mom thinks he is a 2 year-old dachshund/miniature pinscher mix. He is clearly a dachshund mix, with longer legs and shorter ear flaps than a full-breed dachshund. He is still a small dog weighing between 12-14 pounds. He is a black and tan smooth boy, and very handsome too! When his foster mom first met Watson, he clearly did not want to be picked up, but she corrected him verbally and he has been a perfect gentleman since. He is a little shy, but with verbal persuasion, he comes wagging his tail. Watson loves to be outside, so a secure fenced yard is a must for this little explorer. Watson is house trained and crate trained. He does well on a leash and likes car rides. Watson needs a home that is familiar with the dachshund or min pin breed. He is a sweet boy, but needs a good leader who will automatically correct bad behavior when first observed. After that he will be a lover boy, sweeter than sugar cookies. Since he has longer legs than a dachshund, he will do fine in a home with stairs. Watson is not a good candidate for a home with children, but surprisingly he is afraid of kitties. So if you have cats who tend to properly slap the new family member, he becomes very respectful of their space. Watson is neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative, on heartworm prevention and is microchipped. He has no known health problems. If you would like to welcome Watson into your heart and your home, please contact his foster mom and fill out an online adoption application. If you have never adopted through a rescue organization before, please read Adopting Through AHDRS. Watson is located in western North Carolina. Go to www.almosthomerescue.org to fill out an adoption application. Contact Watson's foster mom at Bunnydog@bellsouth.net (Less)

Animal ID: 26713Rose (female)
Rose: 7 yr old (DOB 8/05/2006) stag red female, spayed, docked tail and uncropped ears. 13', 18 lb. Fully vetted. Owner give-up. Rose is a quiet stag red purebred minpin with a thick glossy coat. She came to us from being left outside unattended long and frequently, and had gained quite a bit of weight. She is on a good diet to bring back her waistline. Rose was quietly reserved with people at first, but it didn't take her long to discover the joys of her foster mom's lap and playing with other dogs, large and small! Rose is proudly house trained, crate trained and leash trained, and easy on the home. She enjoys walks and cuddling, and really just wants to share your lap and look lovingly in your eyes. She will be a loyal and steadfast companion. Note: Rose is located in Denver, NC - and we can fly this girl. |Urgent: This animal could be euthanized if not adopted soon.|
Rescue Me ID: 13-09-25-00559Charlie (male)
UPDATED - I have changed the endangered status to could be euthanized. There wasn't an option for what I needed to put. An allergen has been found in our home that is making him sick. I need a home for him ASAP. This allergen could potentially be the root of his problem. Also due to an attempted SCAM I will ask for a verifiable reference from your veterinary medicine provider. Charlie is normally a very quiet guy. He's very sweet and loves to lay against you. He is approximately 7. He has allergies. I can provide test results showing what he is allergic to. I also have his paperwork from the kennel he came from. He must have grain/wheat free food. He gets benadryl daily to control his itching. If his skin gets too bad he can take a 2 week treatment of steroids and antibiotics. He ultimately should probably be on shots. He has a crate, x-pen, blankets, bowls, plenty of food, toys, collar and pet bed. I need this little guy to go to a good home where he can get the attention he needs and deserves as soon as possible. I also have his partner in crime listed on here. A Jack Russel Mix named Bender. These guys need homes soon. Sadly if a home is not found on Monday November 18th they will be going to Gaston County Animal Shelter. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-08-17-00298Moomoo (male)
We rescued Moomoo a couple of months ago. He is very cuddly when he wants to be. Sometimes he likes to nip for no reason and will try to bite his tail. Have not found any specific triggers. He is up to date on his shots, we had his teeth cleaned and several teeth pulled. He prefers men over women. He's very loving, he just needs some time and patience and someone who can work with him on his issues. I can not have him where I am moving.

Animal ID: 25216Meeco (male)
Meeco: 6 yr old black & tan male, neutered, docked tail and uncropped ears. 13', 13.09 lb. Fully vetted. Owner give-up. Meeco is a 6-yo black + tan boy from Texas who is a joy to have around. He will eagerly greet you with a minpin spin and if you talk to him, he'll hold a conversation with you! A croon when he first sees you, a quiet 'woooooo' when you are preparing dinner, a play-growl when you play with him, a pleased groan when you rub his belly. If you imitate him, you can go back and forth for a while! And his little docked tail is a-waggin' a mile-a-minute! He will sound an alarm if he sees a stranger come on the property, but hushed when asked to stop. Meeco is an owner give up, raised in a home with children, and is well-trained doggie-door style. We don't have one, and he has been good crated for meals and let out immediately afterward. He is gentle and easy on the home, VERY content to be petted or just touched with a hand on his head while he sits next to your chair, or in your lap. He gets along well with other dogs but should be introduced to them slowly until they understand his little noises. He can self-entertain with squeaky toys or a bone. Meeco has a small scar on his back from reaction to a top spot flea treatment. He also came from a broken home and learned to be afraid when someone starts shouting or raises their hand. If you can give this gentle little man a place in your home and family, fill out an application and ask for Meeco! Note: Meeco is located in Charlotte, N.C. IMPS Tag# 25216 If you wish to adopt, please fill out our IMPS Min Pin Adoption Application: www.minpinrescue.org/home.html If you have previously submitted an Application form, there is no need to re-apply. Miniature Pinscher Dogs can make good pets in North Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. Miniature Pinschers are lively little terriers that need to be the center of attention. Miniature Pinschers get along well with other pets and children if properly socialized, but they do not tolerate teasing. Miniature Pinschers are intelligent, quick learners. This breed can live in an apartment if it gets enough exercise, including being taken for a brisk walk each day. Miniature Pinschers do not tolerate cold temperatures well.
