e pulled Merlin after being contacted by FCDS he was urgent for fear/bite issues. Merlin was an owner betrayal and as you can imagine, terrified after going from a home to the chaos of a shelter. Although the shelter had him listed at 11-12 years old, he is estimated to be between 5-7...probably closer to 7. Merlin needs to be handled carefully only when he's getting his teeth looked at. It's the only time he gets nervous. He does have some age appropriate tartar and a couple teeth that possibly may need extracted on down the road. They are not loose or infected and do not affect his eating habits-and this guy is very food and treat ... (Read More)motivated. He has two small lipomas on each side of his chest. They were aspirated and are not abnormal and merely fatty tumors. He is fully vaccinated, HW negative and neutered. He is cute as the devil, behaves like a perfect gentleman, does well with small to large dogs, listens well, house broken, obedience trained and loves car rides. Adoption applications can be sent to you emailing us at: Merlin has a small adoption fee. Merlin is located in the Chillicothe Ohio area; adopters for him need to be a reasonable driving distance from us for initial meet and greets and home checks. (Less)

Meet Lyla! Lyla is a 7 1/2 year old Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix who weighs 7.8 lbs. Lyla is a happy girl. She loves almost everyone; men, women, and older children. We understand that she is not so fond of cats. She gets along great with the other foster dogs here at her foster home. Lyla came into Puppy Pals Rescue when an owner surrendered her here locally. Since her arrival, she has received all her shots, has been heartworm and fecal tested (results negative), had a dental (with extractions), and recently had blood work and x-rays completed. She is in great health. We have learned that she has some arthritis in her left ... (Read More)hip and at times she finds it hard to go '#2'. Our vet suggested giving her a stool softener which she gets every other day. This has helped tremendously. Lyla can wag her tail at warp speed. She dances in a circle and hops up and down because she is exceptionally happy. She even has a grin on her face. It's so easy to smile when Lyla is around. Lyla does fairly well walking on a leash. She just loves to go anywhere and everywhere! She plays in the rain, walks in the wet grass, and loves the warm sunshine too. Although Lyla loves to be on the go, she does stay calm in the house. She is not a hyper dog. Lyla has excellent house manners. If left out frequently, she will not have accidents. She will go on a pee pad if offered. She answers to her name and holds the cutest conversations when she 'talks' to you. Lyla plays nicely with other dogs and has no food aggression. Her current foster parents are home most of the day; however, she is accustomed to being crated. We highly recommend crating if you are not at home. If you are looking for a sweet companion, Lyla is here waiting for you! Adoption Donation Fee = $175. If you have any questions, please contact the foster home at the link found at Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting this pup - you can find those at (Email the foster home and let them know you applied so they can be sure the application is received!)     Miniature Pinschers are called Zwergpinschers in Germany, which literally means Dwarf Biter. Miniature Pinschers are not considered to be a toy breed in their native Germany; they are one of the oldest Terriers. Miniature Pinschers are often mistakenly called Miniature Dobermans, but they are not related to Doberman Pinschers.
