[Read About Natural Seizure Care] FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian ID Vinny is a 7 year old Miniature Pinscher (birthday- 11/1/2010). He is a very sweet and mellow dog that thrives on routine. He came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue when his family could no longer care for him. This handsome boy is not your typical Min Pin; he is a cute, quirky dog but fairly low energy; he is sweet and very mellow. He does not like loud, chaotic situations and gets easy overwhelmed. He'd do best in a home with no kids or kids over 12. He is good with other dogs and has lived with another Min Pin but would prefer to have another dog that has a calm energy like his own. He loves food, vacuuming up ... (Read More)crumbs on the floor, snuggling under a blanket, and belly and ear rubs. Vinny does enjoy short walks but usually very short. While he does enjoy snuggles, he often enjoys the quiet comfort of his kennel for a quick nap. Vinny is house trained and kennel trained. He knows very basic commands such as 'kennel' and 'potty outside'. He is good on a leash. Vinny has epilepsy and is currently on two different medicines given twice a day (morning and night) to help control the seizures. While his seizures are controlled this does not mean he doesn't have any. He usually has at least 1 seizure a month, and sometimes in clusters (1-2 seizures a day for a few days in a row). He has had epilepsy since he was 6 months old and his vet says he will always have it; but controlled it is not that big of a deal. His seizures typically involve him involuntarily going potty and shaking and foaming at the mouth. They typically happen at night when he is sleeping and has always slept in his kennel for this reason- plus he loves is kennel! New owners do need to be aware of the cleanup that is involved with Vinny's seizures. Vinny also needs his medicine levels checked (through blood draws) on an annual basis. He also does not have the best oral hygiene and needs regular teeth cleanings. Despite Vinny's epilepsy, he is a healthy, sweet dog with a lot of love to give! If you think you are the one to offer him a life of luxury please complete an adoption application today: Vinny has been neutered, vaccinated. His adoption fee is $50 (Less)
